FAQ

1. What is our event in October 2024 about?
This event offers free art therapy sessions for youths, including both group workshops (with about 6 participants) and individual sessions for youths. The workshops are designed to help participants explore their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors through creative art activities.

2. Do I qualify for the free workshop?

If you're between 18 and 25 years old, you can sign up for free. There are no other inclusion criteria, though we have special allocations for marginalized youth.

3. How do I book a session?
You can book your session(s) here. Simply select the themes you’re interested in and reserve your spot. Each session is free, but slots are limited, so we recommend booking early.

4. What can I expect during the sessions?
Each session will focus on a specific theme, guiding you through creative art activities that promote self-expression and emotional exploration. Sessions last about 1.5 to 2 hours and are facilitated by experienced therapists.

5. Is there a commitment fee?

While the sessions are free, we require a RM10 commitment fee to secure your spot. This fee will be fully refunded after you complete the session. It’s our way of ensuring that slots are fully utilized.

6. Can I attend more than one workshop?
Yes, you can attend multiple workshops with different themes, depending on slot availability. We encourage you to explore various themes to gain different perspectives and insights.

7. What should I bring to the session?
Just bring yourself and an open mind. All materials needed for the art-based activities, as well as light snacks and beverages, will be provided. If you feel that certain personal items might be helpful for your experience, you’re welcome to bring them.

8. What if I feel distressed after a session?
It’s normal to experience various emotions after a therapy session. If you feel distressed and need further emotional support, a clinical psychologist will be on-site to assist you. For immediate help, you can also contact the Befrienders hotline at 03-76272929 or Talian Kasih at 15999.

9. How can I prepare for the workshop or therapy session?
No special preparation is needed. You may want to think about how the theme of the session relates to your personal experiences, but your therapist will guide you through the process.

10. Can I cancel or reschedule my session?
Yes, you may cancel or reschedule your session by emailing us. To receive a full refund of your RM10 commitment fee, please ensure that you cancel at least 48 hours prior to the event. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event will not be eligible for a refund. If you wish to reschedule, you may do so for a different theme on another weekend, subject to availability.

11. What happens if I want to continue therapy after this event?
If you find the sessions helpful and wish to continue with therapy, we can assist you in finding ongoing therapy options, either with our therapists or through recommended services.
